As an active participant in the construction industry with a focus on quality and safety, Knauf Australia is always looking for ways to be involved in improving information and knowledge availability.
Our recent product listings on the National Construction Product Register (NPCR) is just one of the ways that we are doing this. With eighteen of our products listed on the database, further backed by evidence verification on BRANZ Group Number Classification, consumers and specifiers can have peace of mind that the Knauf plasterboard products they specify in a wide range of applications conform with strict construction standards.
For over 40 years Construction Information Systems Ltd (NATSPEC) has been delivering the national comprehensive construction master specification system endorsed by government and professional bodies. They are an impartial body, owned by Government and Industry, and their remit is to improve construction quality and safety in Australian construction projects at the same time as reducing the risks of fraudulent activities in product certification.
The NCPR, an online searchable database of construction products which have evidence of conformity to relevant Australian and international standards, maintained by NATSPEC, is designed to help consumers, designers and contractors source products that conform to Australian standards.
To qualify for a listing on the NCPR, products must be tested by accredited facilities. The results of these tests are provided to NATSPEC to be sighted and verified prior to listing, making it easy for home owners, designers and specifiers to source products that they know comply with Australia’s building and construction standards.
